Barbarism

 I don't even know what to say about Pete Hegseth's plan to livestream the firing squad execution of Nidal Hasan. Even if you support the death penalty, this is a level of performative barbarism that is appalling. The botched execution of Krysta Pike might give normal human beings some pause in broadcasting the killing of a human being - even one as malevolent as Hasan.

Not Whiskey Pete! I think it was David Roth at Defector who described this administration as an "Influencer Occupied Government." Hegseth is exactly that, someone with a craving and craven need to create content - no matter how he looks. This is why we have had 20 times more videos of him doing fucking calisthenics than press conferences. He is a small man in a big job who has initiated an absolutely disastrous war with Iran. In his flailing attempts to justify his withered masculinity, he's going to reduce the United States to the savagery of the Taliban or North Korea.
