The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

DIAF, Joe

I am, too, Joe.

Odious scumbag and US Senator Joe Lieberman was touring a shelter and he decried CL&P's response to the storm.

Listen, you smug little bastard, the reason we have had massive power outages that have taken a week to fix?  Asshats like you.  As I seem to recall, just last week you voted against infrastructure spending because it included higher taxes on rich people like yourself and your cronies.  What is infrastructure?  You know, roads, bridges, the power grid.

You also favor de-regulation.  You know, the sort of deregulation that would allow a power company to maintain minimal staffing in order to maximize its bottom line and pay more to its CEO in the form of stock options.  You know... job creation.

Senator Lieberman you are the worst sort of unctuous political creature that I have ever seen.  You support the Iraq War to the limit and then campaign on wanting to end the war and then support the surge once you have won another six years.  You ooze false sympathy for the people whom your piss poor political judgment disadvantaged.

The only thing I regret is that we won't get a chance to bounce your sorry, puckered ass at the polls a year from now.
