The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

Lindsey Graham

I suppose the admonition not to speak ill of the dead deserves following. However, I do think that Graham's death will and should be focused on how a man who was a devoted acolyte of John McCain and who knew instinctively what a piece of shit Donald Trump is could become so incredibly compromised in his support of a man who seemed to stand in opposition to the previous years of public service.

Whatever Graham's actual accomplishments were - and I don't imagine the list is long - he is now reduced to his servile devotion to that horrible creature who hijacked his party and his political career.

For all the other Republicans in Washington who know better, consider that Graham's legacy is not public service and devotion to "conservative values" but a craven submission to Donald Trump.
