OK, So I Am Watching The Speech

7:35
Nice to see a little fire from Obama defending common sense regulation.

7:36
Looks like the poetry is coming.  Lincoln is a sure bet.

7:37
Laying a real challenge over infrastructure spending and federal role in American economy.  This is good.

Nice theme of community over individualism.  Meanwhile, the local news team's News Van keep zipping back and forth across the bottom of the screen.  Annoying.

"My plan is reasonable and bipartisan.  I am saying we can do this."  And let's see how THAT flies on the right side of the aisle.

7:41
Obama definitely laying the groundwork for a real campaign for this bill.  That is exactly right.  Make this the beginning of 2012, because the GOP only responds to political pressure.

7:42
Bob Schiefer: "He threw a high hard one at Congress."  Hell yeahs.

7:48
And the f-ing terrorists have to go and make noise and steal the show.

Douglas Holtz-Eakins is on PBS and is a dick.  If he's an Economist, then that really is the dismal science.
