Charlie Pierce Is The Jon Stewart Of Bloggers

For me, the aggravating thing about Brooks is that he's not stupid. Not in a Rick Perry sort of way.  He often begins his pieces with observations that are at least in the ballpark of being right.

You then wait for the inevitable "Brooks Pivot" where he goes from making a rational point about the issue at hand to beating some old tired conservative talking point to death.

And you can see Ross Douthat doing it, too.

Hard to whore yourself at the Grey Lady if you're an conservative "intellectual".
