The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

No, The GOP Is Not The Tories

http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2012/2/1/102016/1616

Booman takes on David Frum's argument that the GOP needs to be more like the Conservative Party in Britain. Poor Frum has always been what Republicanism was and not what it is.  To add to Booman's list of metaphors, I think Frum is like F. Scott Fitzgerald.  He married the lively, vivacious rich girl, only to find out she's absolutely insane and will drag him down to an early death.
